Four Blog Ideas for Law Firms in July

by | Jul 11, 2025 | Blogging Tips, Content, Legal Marketing | 0 comments

The summer months can be a slow time for the legal sector, with many clients on holiday or spending time with their families, and parliament in recess.

A drop-off in client work can present the perfect opportunity for law firms to focus their attention on their marketing efforts.

Here, we consider four legal blog topics ideas to consider writing about in July.

  1. Can I take my children on holiday abroad after divorce?

Practice area: Family law.

Why it’s relevant: With most schools breaking up in July, many separated parents will be juggling childcare issues over the summer holidays and considering taking their children away for a break.

Separated parents often query whether they can take a child abroad if they have a different surname or whether they need permission from their co-parent to take children out of the UK and are looking for practical tips to avoid any last-minute disputes.

  1. How long is there between exchange and completion?

Practice area: Conveyancing.

Why it’s relevant: Many people move house over the summer holidays, particularly families who are keen to settle into their new place before the start of the next school term, with the last Friday in August notorious as one of the busiest days for people to move house in the UK.

An article covering the stages involved in conveyancing, or that addresses a particular query relating to the home-moving process, can prove a timely and relevant piece.

  1. What do I do if I have an accident abroad?

Practice area: Personal injury.

Why it’s relevant: With around 84% of UK residents reportedly taking a holiday each year, and more than half of us opting for a break overseas, the summer sees a considerable proportion of us preparing to jet off.

While holidays can be relaxing, accidents can still happen. Food poisoning, slips by the pool and sporting injuries picked up on our travels can all affect our enjoyment of the holiday season, with many people curious as to whether there is any room for recourse if something outside of their control impacts their break.

  1. Does my employer have to send me home if there is no working a/c?

Practice area: Employment law

Why it’s relevant: Higher temperatures experienced during the summer often brings with it various queries about an employee’s rights in the workplace.

Questions about health and safety at work, remote working policies, and time off for family emergencies often crop up during the summer, with people frequently looking for answers to common employment law issues.
